Privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what data CosmoTV uses, why it uses it and how you control each piece. It covers the CosmoTV apps and this website.
The short version
CosmoTV works without an account. In that mode, your library, history and preferences are stored on your device and never reach us.
When you create an account or turn on syncing, we keep only what's needed for your data to look the same on all your devices.
Data we use and why
- Account (optional): email, name and the Sign in with Apple or Google identifier, to create and protect your account.
- Synced library (optional): shows, anime and movies, marked episodes, lists, reminders and taste preferences, to keep your devices in step.
- Subscription: the CosmoTV Pro purchase status and a customer identifier, processed by RevenueCat. We never receive your card details; payment goes through the App Store or Google Play.
- Usage and crashes: app usage events (Firebase Analytics, on iPhone and iPad) and crash reports (Sentry, on iPhone and iPad), so we can see what breaks and fix it.
- Notifications: a notification token, when you turn on alerts, to deliver new-episode reminders. On Android this goes through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Ads: the free version shows Google AdMob ads on iPhone, iPad and Android. On iPhone and iPad the app asks for your tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) before any personalized ads; without it, the advertising identifier is not used. AdMob may use device identifiers according to the consent you give. CosmoTV Pro subscribers see no ads.
- Import and export: files you import (TV Time CSV or JSONL) are read to build your library. Exports are generated for you to keep.
- Forms on this website: the name, email and message sent through the contact, launch list and account deletion forms, to answer your request.
AI suggestions
CosmoTV Pro's AI suggestions are generated on your own device, with Apple Intelligence on iPhone and iPad or Gemini Nano on Android, where available. Your library is not sent to outside AI services.
Third-party services
- RevenueCat — subscription management.
- Google Firebase — Analytics (iPhone and iPad) and Cloud Messaging (Android).
- Sentry — crash reports (iPhone and iPad).
- Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform — ads and consent (iPhone, iPad and Android).
- Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In — optional sign-in.
- Apple iCloud — syncing on iPhone and iPad, when turned on.
- TVmaze and TMDB — show and movie information. They receive catalog searches, not your personal data.
- Brevo — delivery of the emails sent through the forms on this website.
How long we keep data
Data on your device stays there until you delete it or remove the app.
Account and synced library data is kept while the account exists. After a confirmed deletion request, it is erased within 30 days.
Crash reports and usage events follow Sentry's and Firebase's retention periods. Form messages are kept for as long as it takes to handle the request.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, copy or delete your data under the GDPR, Brazil's LGPD and other applicable data protection laws. Write to contato@mycosmotv.com and we'll reply from the same address.
To export your library, use Export data in the app. To delete your account and the data linked to it, use the Delete account page.
Children
CosmoTV is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
